Vera napping

I went to check on her and found her in her playhouse in the doll crib tucked in and sleeping.

Match Day!

Crazy day! We waited to find out where John matched for residency along with his other classmates. They would pull an envelope with your name on it out of basket. The envelope had a letter in it telling you where you were going. It was a high anxiety moment. There were lots of emotions being felt all around us. It was a little much for Jonas to take. There were people crying, cheering, and everything in between. John matched in Emergency Medicine in Tucson, Arizona. We were really happy about it.

I made sushi and tempura

It tasted pretty good. Jonas loved it, Vera not so much.

Vera and her Princess smile

Vera asked me to take pictures of her because she wanted to smile like a princess.

Cupcakes for Jonas' class

Finally back to Wisconsin, we were almost gone for 3 months. Jonas is enrolled back into school after being home-schooled for a little while. His first day back was the day after his birthday. These are the cupcakes that he wanted me to make. Spaghetti and meatballs (made with jam, round chocolates and grated white chocolate), Mashed potatoes and gravy (made with a Starburst and butterscotch sauce), and peas and carrots (made with bits of Starbursts and frosting). His friends were glad to see him and he was glad to be back in school.

Jonas' 6th Birthday at the Fire Station

The pictures of him opening presents didn't turn out. Arielle has a great picture of the smoking cake I'll have to get from her and add later.

Breakfast with highschool friends Miranda and Lindsay

I haven't seen them in close to 10 years. No one else could make it on short notice, but it was still really fun to catch up.
