Hiking at Lapham Peak

June 24, 2007
Hiking at Lapham Peak with MacKenzie. The trees huge and very pretty. We found small frogs hopping along the trail. There is a large 5 story wooden observation tower which from the top you can see for miles in every direction. It's one of our new favorite places.

Vera Walking

Vera had a great time walking around Lapham Peak. John and Jonas were climbing the observation tower one last time. John was calling to her from the top of the tower.

Genealogy Road Trip!
Hopewell Church where many of our ancestors worshipped and are buried.

Hopewell's beautiful stone fence.

One of the two cities where they lived in Ohio. (the other was Fosterville, which is now considered a neighborhood within unincorporated Morning Sun, Ohio.)

Clara Brown Foster and Gilbert Orr Wright's home located on Hopewell hill which is now part of the Heuston Woods State Park.

Samuel C. Foster and Hannah Ann Sayers's first home. It is located in what was Fosterville. The shed and outhouse are still there, but not in this picture. Samuel made his living building wagons and caskets from the shed. Later they moved to Morning Sun.

Quaker Cemetery where Hannah's mother is buried. (Sarah Sayers)

Aunt MacKenzie came to visit

June 12-25, 2007
MacKenzie flew in from Colorado to visit us. MacKenzie and I drove with Jonas and Vera to visit Becca and her family in Indiana on our way to Ohio to visit Preble County where our some of our ancestors lived. MacKenzie also watched Jonas and Vera while John and I went away for 2 days/nights. Jonas misses her very much. He had a great time making crafts and a movie with her.
